The Memorial Complex of Imam Al Bukhari

Hello 👋 everyone today we went to the memorial complex of Imam al Bukhari . It is located in Bukhara. I don't know 😕 🤷 about this museum even I am local here but today I learned a lot of informations about this museum 🤓

Today was Shahrizoda's turn to tell informations about this museum. She is very responsible girl 👧 for this reason her presentation 👏 was best of the best 👍 I learned a lot of informations from her speeches 💬 😄

As usual now I want to share some informations about this museum which I learned today from Shahrizoda's speech🙃

History of this museum

The Memorial Complex of Imam Al Bukhari is situated in the northern section of the Samanid Park opposite the ancient Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum. It is a recent structure, as the small museum was opened in 2001. It is a unique design, as it is shaped as a book which is partially open, with the spine facing south. Behind the book is the easily recognisable crescent moon symbol. There are star shaped designs on either side of the steps leading to the museum. The architect is Zoirsho Kilichev, and it is reported that he used bricks on the book to represent cells and ultimately hadiths collected by the famous Imam.

Muhammad al-Bukhari was born in Bukhara, and lived between 810-870. His father was a scholar of the hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), and as a teeneger he started recording these sayings which were passed verbally at the time. He traveled to Mecca at sixteen, and also visited other holy cities over a long period including Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Bahgdad and Basra. He used this period to interview religious leaders of these holy cities and record hadiths. It is reported that he received more than 500,000 hadiths, and returned to Bukhara in his 30's.

On his return he compiled 7,275 of the tested hadiths in a book known as "al-Jami' as-Sahih". This book is represented on the monument. The book is considered second only to the Koran by Sunni muslims. The museum highlights his travels, text collection and other interesting facts on the book. For his work, the imam received the title, "Master of Hadith Scholarship". The book was used as the basis to judge rulings on religious issues. The Imam died at the age of sixty in a small village named Hartang, near to Samarkand. His mausoleum is located 30 km north of Samarkand, and is a place of pilgrimage.

So today was also unforgettable day for me. It was very interesting 🤔 because I have never been this place since my childhood 😢 for this reason this museum seemed very interesting 😀 for me and also the museum was very beautiful especially Enterence 😁
